Newark’s young people and the community deserve and demand that funding is invested thoughtfully, in ways that will have impact for now and the future. We value tremendously the support and investment from all of our donors. FNF is an independent, non-governmental foundation that takes a balanced approach to investing. By supporting and advancing what works, FNF’s goal is to leave Newarkers with the system-wide changes needed for long-term success.


Foundation for Newark’s Future

Total Committed to Date: $70,045,110.40

Early Childhood Education

Total Investment – $1,046,000

High quality care and early education lay the ground work for future success for all students.

School Options

Total Investment – $6,357,662.40

All children in Newark deserve to have access to high-quality public school options, whether through traditional District schools and/or charter schools.

Teacher Quality and Principal Leadership

Total Investment – $51,311,000

Quality teaching is the number one Priority for improving academic achievement among students. Principal and school leadership is one of the strongest enablers of teacher quality.

Community Engagement

Total Investment – $3,574,866

When families are engaged, at home and in community, children perform better in school, and their schools are more effective.

At Risk Youth

Total Investment – $360,000

The challenge of better meeting the needs of Newark’s at-risk youth is great and can no longer go unaddressed if we are to keep the  promise of all children graduating from high school prepared to succeed in college and a career.

NPS Operational Excellence

Total Investment – $7,395,582

FNF supports the Superintendent in her goal of transforming Newark Public Schools into a service-oriented organization that efficiently serves the needs of students.
